CHARACTER
NAME: Yoohyun Han
CANON: The S-Ranks that I Raised
CANON POINT: Chapter 96
AGE: Twenty
BACKGROUND:
Yoohyun Han was born into a relatively normal family, the only misfortune was the fact that with his birth came a wave of fear and uncertainty that his parents could not ignore. However he was fortunate to have his older brother, Yoojin Han, taking care of him; from a very young age he was under his guidance and respected him as both a brother and parental figure. Their parents would continue to go out to eat every night, take trips overseas, and intentionally neglect their children for the sake of ignoring their fear. That all comes to a halt, however, the day both their parents are involved in an accident that results in both of them dying.

Now orphaned, the two of them grew beside each other until the faithful day arrived where dungeons and awakened people began to appear in their world. Yoohyun awakened into an S-Rank during a monster attack, and while this would have been a sign of good fortune it only caused a split to form between the two siblings. With a five year age gap and pride on the line, Yoohyun could only watch as Yoojin withdrew; their lives became separate, especially with how busy his life had become being the youngest recorded S-Rank within South Korea, and soon enough he was learning to become independent. Creating his own guild of hunters (Haeyeon) specialized in attacking dungeons that cropped up across their country, associating with other S-Ranks (albeit reluctantly), all while keeping an eye on his older brother from a distance.

When we're first met with these two brothers Yoohyun is dying. After protecting Yoojin from Lauchtas, a three-headed dragon with red scales, he suffered from a fatal injury after having his side torn out completely. His dying wish was for his brother to escape, well and unharmed, and as all the strength left his body he collapsed. Memories are recalled with the use of Yoojin's Caregiver skill revealing that, while distant, Yoohyun did everything he could in order to protect his brother.

Refusing to use the gate stone to return to the dungeon entrance, Yoojin attacks and defeats Lauchtas and obtains a Wish Stone -- an item that grants one wish for the user. Unable to bring Yoohyun back to life Yoojin instead uses the wish stone to return five years into the past, and his wish comes true.

Five years into the past and we're introduced to a scene where Yoohyun had just dragged Yoojin away from Awakening brokers (swindlers that promise Unawakened people their protection through a dungeon so they can Awaken, illegal and often times resulting in the person buying being killed). After disposing the brokers Yoohyun confronts his brother who, despite his expectations, seems almost delighted to see him. Unaware of his brother's wish and newly given skills provided by the system, he is the first that Yoojin applies a useful keyword on by saying "I love you"; the skill legendary ranked "My Brat is the Best" increasing the growth rate of an individual who becomes influenced after hearing the keyword by one hundred percent. Basically it means that Yoojin has the ability to help raise S-Ranks and those who have the potential to be an S-Rank become stronger.

Yoohyun is left unaware as Yoojin begins at the Korean Hunter Association to be assigned as an F-Rank Hunter before setting out to find Bak Yerim, an unawakened S-Rank person. He also allows him to take ownership of the Horned Flame Lion that Yoohyun had captured and was planning to kill due to him not growing properly. Fortunately Yoojin saves the poor thing and promises to raise him in order to mask his skill as a monster rearing ability. However he is a bit hesitant when he takes up being Yerim's guardian, reluctantly giving in to the idea and brings her into Haeyeon. The two of them have an entertaining enough relationship that they cover up to the public eye, engaging in multiple dungeon attacks together.

With more attention drawn towards Yoojin leads to more exposure to his skills. He continues to hide as much as he can while giving Yoohyun the bare minimum knowledge, however that doesn't stop from other S-Rank Hunters and guild leaders taking a keen interest in the new monster rearing skill holder. While Yoohyun had already began to obtain dungeon monsters overseas for Yoojin to take care of, he didn't expect for so many others to take interest in his brother's skills. It leads to the construction of an entirely new building to where he can help the growth of dungeon monsters, as well as somewhat working with the South Korean Hunter Association to advance awakenings in other people.

Yoojin is later kidnapped and nearly shipped off overseas before he makes his escape. It makes Yoohyun become more protective, and equally more irritated, when he finds out his brother has been sneaking into dungeons on his own. So frustrated that he even threatens to break both of his legs, and continuing to become even more infuriated when Yoojin requests for another dungeon attack to help raise the ranking of one of their guild members, Kim Sunghan. He agrees, but at the misfortune of having to be accompanied by fellow guild leaders Sung Hyunjae and Moon Hyuna -- both of which have an almost annoying desire to whisk Yoojin away from Haeyeon and Yoohyun entirely.

Their dungeon attack manages to succeed despite the appearance of an SS-Rank 1st Rank monster appeared called the Mountain Swallowing Babar. Yoojin unfortunately exhausts his stamina during the end of the battle and after retreating to the entrance he is brought to the hospital. Yoohyun, insisting that there is something wrong within the dungeon, decides to attack it -- alone with the newly grown monster, Peace. Fortunately they both exit the dungeon seven days later, set a new record of completing a dungeon raid in such a short amount of time given it's rank, and he is then given a strange SSS-Rank item called the "Red Egg". The two of them ponder on what it could possibly be and decide to let Yoo Myeongwoo, a fellow Haeyeon guild member, see if he can use it as material. To their surprise the egg actually hatches, revealing itself to be a red, fire elemental lizard that assigns Yoohyun as it's contractor before seeping into his skin.

PERSONALITY:
On the surface Yoohyun is everything he wants people to see: a young man who admires and dedicates himself completely to his older brother, Han Yoojin. While there is a lack of trust that often puts a strain in their relationship, there's no denying that Yoohyun is willing to risk everything so long as it means that his brother may live a more comfortable and relaxing life. It's his greatest strength as well as his most deadliest flaw, considering he has already lived through one timeline where he sacrificed his own life for the sake of his older brother -- and that was even despite them being so distant.

From a young age Yoohyun understood that, if it were not for his birth, Yoojin and his parents could have lived happily among themselves. Her harbored no ill-will towards his mother and father, who decided to separate themselves from him completely, and instead focused and valued the family who was willing to care for him the most. For that very reason it should come to no surprise that he's selfish when it comes down to the attention Yoojin gives others, as well as the fact that he simply wishes to cling to what he has already claimed as his; it's an unhealthy possessiveness that can be described as downright disturbing at times, especially when it doesn't seem like he considers the consequences of his actions when it pertains to protecting Yoojin. When he drags him away from the Awakening brokers that attempted to scam him there's heavy implications that he later left to find and kill them, and later on it's revealed by Song Taewon (an S-Rank Hunter who acts as law enforcement for other hunters of his rank) that incidents like that are commonly tied with Yoohyun.

Yoohyun's a natural born, dangerous S-Rank, and it shouldn't come to anyone's surprise that he often allows his emotions to be the catalyst of his decision making. When he finds out Yoojin had left to a dungeon on his own he was so furious he sincerely considered breaking his legs, if only if it meant that he could drag him back home and lock him away from the rest of the world. The idea of even claiming that his own brother died to the South Korean Hunter Association so they would stop contacting him crossed his mind, with the only reason why he stopped was because Yoojin fortunately managed to explain himself. Despite his demeanor in reality it's... pretty simple for Yoojin to calm Yoohyun down enough from doing anything rash -- a more vulnerable side of him surfacing as he folds to his older brother's wishes each and every time. It can be a comical sight, considering their huge gap in strength and ranking, but it's an obvious sign of respect that any other person would only hope to receive from Yoohyun.

However with that said, Yoohyun obviously doesn't treat everyone the way he does Yoojin. Even Peace, the Horned Flame Lion he obtained while in a dungeon, is regarded as nothing but a monster to be used -- and that can be said about everyone else he regularly comes in contact with. He treats Bak Yerim and Yoo Myeongwoo with the same, practiced friendliness that he shows to the public whenever he's faced with a camera, but he'll easily flip between that and his usual nonchalance when he's exhausted himself. He seldom ever shows any polite behavior to anyone besides Yoojin, often times ignoring honorifics and speaking in a harsh tone to even veteran hunters such as Moon Hyuna and Sung Hyunjae, with the ladder being the strongest recorded S-Rank in South Korea.

There is definitely a lack of empathy in both his words and actions, and if there is an option to kill something he'll typically follow through with it mercilessly. This lack of consideration is also extended towards humans, of course, shown when he persists that killing Noah during his rampage would be easier than trying to confine him.

Yoohyun does show some forms of kindness through his nonchalance, it's simply difficult for him to express that given his general mistrust in people. He has lived a majority of his life under the guidance of his brother, and once he had Awakened their relationship became so strained that he even finds it odd that Yoojin would be so affectionate after three years of nearly no communication. However he embraces the change quickly enough, exposing a more childish side of him in wanting to selfishly cling to the brother and most important person in his world that he thought he had lost. Offering everything he has so Yoojin can live a peaceful life, extending that -- to an extent, of course -- to other people. When Yerim joins his guild, for example, he takes some form of responsibility of her well-being and chooses to protect her and fight against a monster alone; he recognizes when she's exhausted most of her stamina or mana, taking up a mentor role so that she may survive properly within a dungeon and come out unscathed for the most part.

Overall Yoohyun is a young man whose experience shaped him into the person that he is. Observant and cold to most and unexpectedly bratty and boyish when in the presence of his older brother who is, quite literally, the center of his world. He crushes whatever displeases him, but also holds his tongue when he feels embarrassed -- Yoojin describes him as having a handsome face, but in the same breath he won't hesitate to call him what he is: "a crazy bastard".

POWERS/ABILITIES:
Enhanced Strength: In comparison to other Awakened people, S-Ranks are particularly strong and often have to be monitored for the first twenty-four hours to adjust to their strength; crushing phones and causing tables to break are just mild examples of the power behind an S-Rank person, however. Yoohyun is capable of fighting against dragons four times his own size without much trouble, and with his strength alone slamming Noah's head into the ground caused the concrete beneath their feet to crack.

Enhanced Stamina: An S-Rank's stamina is also incredibly high. Only showing signs of fatigue after using many skills consistently; Yoohyun doesn't seem particularly tired after spending seven days within a dungeon where he's constantly being attacked. While he and Peace did take shifts sleeping and keeping guard one can only assume that with just the two of them neither were sleeping for very long.

Green Willow Leaves: Multiple leaves appear in the air and and cause a field-of-sight confusion effect on enemies, interrupting their vision and movements. The effect shouldn't last for more than a minute and the skill doubles as a near flight ability for Yoohyun; by stepping on the leaves he can jump to the next and achieve a higher ground or race towards an enemy faster than he would on foot.

Flame Manipulation: Yoohyun can create, shape, and manipulate fire, which he can either spread around him or use to coat his blade completely in flames. If he focuses his attack on a single point he can increase the intensity of his attack. These flames are able to be extinguished by an elemental opposite of his own (i.e. ice).

Black Flame Manipulation: A more intense type of flame that cannot even be extinguished by a freezing cold rain. This would take more stamina and mana out of him, however, due to its intensity; this ability can easily melt through bone and flesh in comparison to his usual flames.

Fire Elemental / Red Lizard: A red lizard that increases Yoohyun's fire-based skills. It crawls around his skin and can take form of a small red lizard if it chooses to show itself, otherwise it can also insert itself into his eye and make it completely red.

Fire Resistance: Yoohyun's fire resistance is so high that flames are unable to burn the clothes on his body. This ability is also shared with another person if they are physically close to him, typically within his arms.

Mind Manipulation Resistance: A blessing that comes with being an S-Rank. Yoohyun has a higher mind manipulation stat that makes it difficult for such skills to work on him. He can recognize when this is being used on him and will act with a high level of hostility.

High Alcohol Tolerance: Another blessing for simply being an S-Rank. It's almost impossible for Yoohyun to get drunk unless he's trying, which often results in him drinking a lot.

Of the listed skills I'll be nerfing his mind manipulation and high alcohol tolerance completely. If the mods wish for any other abilities to also be nerfed then I'mm free game!

INVENTORY:
Items: His coat, his sword, the owner's token for Peace, and three high ranked apple-flavored health potions.
Pets: The fire elemental lizard and Peace.

MOONBLESSING: Sanguis
